Gender + Sexuality Resource Center Storytelling & Special Initiatives Intern

Position Description

The mission of the Gender + Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) is to support queer, trans, women, and fem undergraduate and graduate Princetonians by addressing institutional and societal systems of inequity via intentional programming, education, and advocacy initiatives. One of the ways we achieve this work would be through our Storytelling & Special Initiatives projects. For example, the GSRC is home to the Princeton LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project where we have an archive of over 140+ alumni interviews. Additionally, we will be hosting the Princeton Queer + Trans Conference during the Fall of 2025.

We are interested in working with 1-2 ASAP interns who are interested in supporting our Storytelling & Special Initiatives projects, specifically, our LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project and the Princeton Queer + Trans Conference. Our Summer interns will be tasked with administrative and research responsibilities based on their specific interests and needs. Largely, our undergraduate interns would work closely with the Associate Director of the GSRC as well as other campus leaders in areas of DEI.

Our Storytelling & Special Initiatives Intern will:

  • Assist with transcribing and coding interview data from the Princeton LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project
  • Analyze coding data from our OHP archive to design a digital social media campaign highlighting Princeton’s LGBTQIA+ history
  • Analyze our archive to design an LGBTQIA+ walking tour of Princeton University
  • Assist with the planning and organizing of the Princeton Queer + Trans Conference
  • Serve as a liaison between their home university and Princeton University for the Princeton Queer + Trans Conference
  • Support with larger Gender + Sexuality Resource Center initiatives in areas of education & community engagement
